We start the day riding along quiet coastal and city-edge roads, easing into the journey before heading toward the mountains. This relaxed beginning lets you enjoy the fresh sea breeze and warm up for the scenic adventure ahead.
Scenic Ride over Hai Van Pass & Hai Van Quan
After around 40 minutes of riding, we begin riding up the legendary Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass), one of the most scenic coastal mountain roads in Vietnam and a highlight of any Easy Rider motorbike tour from Da Nang.
Stretching for approximately 21 kilometers between Da Nang and Hue, Hai Van Pass forms a significant natural, geographical, and climatic boundary in Central Vietnam. Historically, it separated the Dai Viet Kingdom and the Champa Kingdom, and today it marks the border between Hue City and Da Nang City.
As we ride along the winding mountain road, you’ll notice how the landscape and weather change dramatically. The pass is famous for its shifting climate, with cool air and mist often shrouding the peaks, creating a mysterious atmosphere that gave the pass its name “Ocean Cloud Pass“. From the viewpoints, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the East Sea, lush mountains, and the coastline far below.

At the summit, we visit Hai Van Quan, an ancient military gate built in the early 19th century under the Nguyen Dynasty. Once a crucial defensive fortification protecting the imperial city of Hue, Hai Van Quan now offers sweeping views toward Lang Co Bay, Da Nang, and the surrounding mountains – one of the most iconic viewpoints in Central Vietnam.
Lap An Lagoon & Lang Co Coastal Views
Descending from the pass, we continue toward Lap An Lagoon (Đầm Lập An) near Lang Co Beach. With mountains on one side and the sea on the other, the lagoon’s calm waters reflect the sky and surrounding landscape.
This peaceful stop is perfect for relaxing, taking photos, and observing local fishermen working on the lagoon.
Dream Waterfall – Hidden Nature Escape
Next, we ride inland to Mo Waterfall, a quiet natural retreat hidden deep in the forest. Here, you can cool off, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and unwind beside the flowing water.

Lunch at Lang Co Beach

Linh Ung Pagoda & Son Tra Peninsula
After lunch, we begin our return journey toward Da Nang along coastal and mountain roads, offering completely different scenery from the morning route.
We stop at Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Paninsula (Monkey Mountain), home to the impressive 67-meter Lady Buddha (Quan Am) statue. From here, enjoy panoramic views over Da Nang city, the coastline, and the East Sea.
Marble Mountains Exploration & Sunset Views
Our final major stop is the Marble Mountains, one of Da Nang’s most iconic landmarks. This cluster of limestone hills is ideal for light trekking, exploring ancient caves, visiting Buddhist pagodas, and enjoying sweeping coastal views.
