Begin at Tu Duc Tomb — the poetic and tranquil final resting place of the 4th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Your guide will explain the history and symbolism of the site, giving you a deeper understanding of Hue’s royal heritage. You’ll have about 1 hour to explore the grounds at your own pace. Thuy Xuan Incense-Making Village (Làng Hương Thuỷ Xuân)
From Tu Duc Tomb, continue along local roads to Thuỷ Xuân Incense-Making Village, a traditional Hue craft village famous for ít colorful incense. Spend about 30 minutes learning about this local craft, meeting the people who continue the tradition, and, if you like, trying to make incense yourself.
Vong Canh Hill (Đồi Vọng Cảnh)
Next, head to Vong Canh Hill, a peaceful viewpoint overlooking the Perfume River. Enjoy a short walk, take in the sweeping views and discover remnants of French and American bunkers among the pine trees. It’s a relaxing stop for photos and a chance to enjoy the quieter scenery around Hue.
Khai Dinh Tomb (Ứng Lăng)
Continue to Khai Dinh Tomb, one of the most distinctive royal tombs in Hue. Built for the second-to-last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, it is the smallest of the main royal tombs but one of the most ornate, with intricate decoration and strong European influences. We’ll spend around 40 minutes explore the tomb.
Abandoned Waterpark (Hồ Thuỷ Tiên)
End your adventure at the eerie yet fascinating Thuy Tien Lake Waterpark, one of Hue’s most unusual places. Explore the abandoned pools, crumbling slides, and famous giant dragon statue — a dream for photographers and urban explorers. Spend around 1 hour exploring the area. Entrance ticket included.
