3-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Hue to Cua Tung Beach – 115 km
Your adventure begins in Hue, with pickup from your hotel, train station, bus station, or airport. Because this is a private tour, you are free to choose your departure time, allowing you to start early or later according to your schedule.
Leaving Hue behind, we ride through peaceful countryside, passing traditional villages and beautiful rice fields. Along the way, we stop at a local farm where you can learn how rice is grown and harvested and see how an important part of everyday Vietnamese life connects to the countryside.
We then continue to Tam Giang Lagoon, one of Southest Asia’s largest lagoon systems. We’ll cross the lagoon by local ferry, enjoying the peaceful scenery and seeing local fishermen going about their daily work.
From the lagoon, we ride toward the coast and stop at My Thuy Beach, a beautiful and relatively quiet beach known for its long stretch of golden sand and clear water. Take some time to relax and, if conditions are suitable, swim and cool off in the sea.
After the beach, we continue through coastal villages and stop at a local fish sauce-making vilage. Here, you can learn about the traditional methods used to produce one of the most important ingredients in Vietnamese cuisine.
Around lunchtime, we’ll stop at Cua Viet Beach for a local meal before continuing along the coast toward Cua Tung.
By the afternoon, we arrive at Cua Tung Beach, where you can relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere after your first day on the road.
Overnight: Cua Tung Beach
Day 2: Cua Tung to Khe Sanh – 125 km
After breakfast, we leave Cua Tung and begin a full day exploring the Vietnam DMZ, one of the most historically significant regions of Central Vietnam.
Our first major stop is the Vinh Moc Tunnels, an extraordinary underground village built during the Vietnam War. Your guide will explain how local civilians lived, worked and survived underground during the conflict.
We continue to Hien Luong Bridge, an important historical landmark that once marked the division between North and South Vietnam. Here, you’ll learn more about the history of the DMZ and Vietnam’s long journey toward reunification.
Next, we visit Truong Son National Cemetery, the largest military in Vietnam, where thousands of Vietnamese soldiers who lost their lives during the war are commemorated.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue toward Khe Sanh, riding through increasingly mountainous landscapes.
This part of the journey is not simply about reaching the next destination. We make regular stops along the way to take photographs, enjoy a Vietnamese coffee, meet local people and appreciate the peaceful scenery of mountains, forests and lakes.
We cross Dakrong Bridge, an important location along the historic wartime supply routes, before continuing toward Khe Sanh along the historic Road 9.
As the afternoon progresses, the mountain scenery becomes even more spectacular. We arrive in Khe Sanh around 5:00 PM, giving you time to relax after another memorable day on the road.
Overnight: Khe Sanh
Day 3: Khe Sanh to Phong Nha – 220km
Our final day takes us from Khe Sanh to Phong Nha along some of the most spectacular sections of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
We begin by visiting the Khe Sanh Combat Base, a former US military outpost and one of the most important historical sites of the Vietnam War. Your Easy Rider guide will share the story of the famous Battle of Khe Sanh and explain the significance of this remote mountain location.
From Khe Sanh, we head deeper into the mountains, riding through green valleys, dense jungle and remote mountain roads along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
Along the way, we have opportunities to meet members of the Co Tu, Pa Co and Van Kieu communities and learn about their traditional ways of life in the mountains. These encounters offer a glimpse into a side of Central Vietnam that is far removed from the country’s main tourist routes.
We then continue to Chenh Venh Waterfall and Ta Puong Waterfall, two beautiful natural spots hidden among the mountains. If the weather and water conditions are suitable, you’ll have time to swim and cool off in the refreshing natural pools.

Throughout the day, we’ll stop for local food, drinks, photographs and short breaks, giving you time to enjoy both the journey and scenery rather than simply rushing from one destination to another.
As we approach Phong Nha, the landscape opens up and the final section of the ride offers spectacular views of surrounding mountains and countryside.
We arrive in Phong Nha in the afternoon and drop you off at your accommodation, bus station, train station or another agreed location.
Your 3-day Hue to Phong Nha motorbike adventure comes to an end.
